The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Student Library Assistant. Having a Library background is helpful, but not essential.
Duties include: - “Processing” a variety of new library materials by inserting security tapes, stamping, labeling, and shelving. - Updating various loose-leaf materials by inserting and removing pages from binders. - Assisting librarians with special projects.
Applicant should have the ability to produce accurate, neat, and often detailed work, as well as the ability to work independently and yet enjoy working on a team in a pleasant environment.
Child Protection Clearances
The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
Hourly Pay Rate $7.25

Anticipated Weekly Schedule
Students work from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, but supervisor will work with student if flexibility in scheduling is needed.
